Scuderia Ferrari Sebastian Vettel admits that they are not favourites heading to Mexico but wants the team to take advantage of any mistakes.

“We know we are not the favourites coming into this weekend, but we sure are here to fight and grab every opportunity of a win or a podium finish. Last year we didn’t have the best of results here, so obviously we’ll try to improve on that.”

Vettel feels that there is a level playing field for all the teams because it is just the second time that Formula 1 heads to the updated Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit since it made it’s return to the calendar in 2015 for the first time in twenty-three years.

“Many things can happen, this is a track were nobody really has much experience, as it is only the second edition of this Grand Prix.”

Ferrari have underperformed this season dropping behind Red Bull Racing and failing to win a race unlike 2015, Vettel has defended the team and believes they can return to winning ways.

“More generally speaking, obviously this year we did not get the results we wanted, but there’s a lot of work going on back at the factory, a lot of things have changed and in Formula One, unfortunately, things do not happen at a mouse click.

“I think we have a lot of people in the team, clever, smart people, and this will help for the future and make us feel more confident.”
