Brazilian driver Felipe Massa will hope to impress in front of his home crowd for the final time in his illustrious Formula 1 career.

“Interlagos is home. It’s the place that I grew up. It will be emotional racing there for the final time on such an amazing track. I’m looking forward to enjoying every single lap and hopefully I can manage to finish the race with a good result.”

Massa has driven well at Interlagos but was disqualified from the event in 2015 for tyre irregularities, having finished on the podium in his first appearance with Williams.  The former Scuderia Ferrari driver finished on the top step of the podium twice in 2006 and 2008 but since then the Brazilian has not had the same kind of success in front of the most passionate fans in the world.

“I have won twice at Interlagos and have finished on the podium many times over the years and I hope we can get another one. It won’t be easy, but I will do everything I can for my people and for Brazil in my last race at home.”

In his final year, Massa will look to finish on a high by beating the Sahara Force India F1 Team to fourth place in the Constructors Championship but it will be an intense battle as Force India look extremely competitive in the final flyaway races.
