Petter Solberg began the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship by taking victory in the opening round at the World RX of Portugal in changing conditions and now that the season has reached its finale, he’s looking to end the season in the same way…with victory at the World RX of Argentina.

With rival Mattias Ekstrom having secured the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Drivers Championship at the last round in Germany, Solberg is now embroiled in a battle for second place in the Drivers Championship which sees him up against Volkswagen RX Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson, Hoonigan Racing’s Andreas Bakkerud and Team Peugeot-Hansen’s Sebastien Loeb. With such a competitive lineup fighting for that valuable second place, the Norwegian driver is still looking for every competitive edge possible from his PSRX Citroen DS3.

“So, now we look forward to Argentina.” said Solberg. “It’s a great track and one I have some really nice memories from winning the world championship last year. We’ve done a couple more changes to the car since Germany, the PSRX team never stops working and developing the car – there’s always some small evolutions coming.”

However the 2003 WRC Champion has no plans to ease off after the conclusion of this years championship and he is already working hard on his plans for 2017 as he aims to recapture the World RX Drivers Title.

“I must admit, while I’ve missed not competing since Germany last month, it’s given me a chance to get behind the desk rather than the steering wheel. I’ve been so busy working towards next season. Getting Argentina done this week will mean the full focus can then move to 2017, which is going to be a really exciting year for PSRX. One thing’s for sure, motivation has never been higher than it is right now: we want our title back!”
