Ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Williams Martini Racing driver Valtteri Bottas has praised his Brazilian team-mate Felipe Massa ahead of his last home race.
“First of all, I think this is going to be such a cool race for Felipe as he is retiring and it’s going to be his last home race,” said Bottas. “I hope we can do well there and that he enjoys the weekend. Last year we did a good race and picked up some decent points.”
Interlagos always creates an exciting race with the fast flowing corners and passionate fans that make it unique for the drivers and teams alike.
“Brazilian fans are also always really passionate about Formula One. There is a nice combination of different types of corners on the track and it’s quite technical. The new tarmac that was laid there a couple of years ago has made it very grippy since, so I really enjoy racing at this track.”
Bottas had a strong race last year finishing fifth albeit a lap down on the eventual winner Nico Rosberg. Brazil can always throw up a surprise with the unpredictable weather and challenging track conditions.
Sahara Force India F1 Team and Williams are only separated by nine points heading into the final two races with fourth place up for grabs for both teams every race is vital.
