DA Racing have announced that they will take part in a full campaign of the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship, using two ex-Peugeot-Hansen 208 WRX Supercars.
The French team, which runs Jean-Baptiste Dubourg in the FIA European Rallycross Championship in the Supercar class and his younger brother Andreas in both the Super1600 Euro RX class and the Supercar class in the French Rallycross Championship, is looking to make an impression in their first full season of World RX competition.
“The ambition of DA Racing is simple, we want to challenge for the first places in the different championships we are engaged in. At the end of last year, we had the opportunity to acquire two of the best cars in the sport with a pair of Peugeot 208 WRX 2015 cars. With growth a major part of DA Racing’s objective we could not miss the opportunity.” said Dominique Dubourg, Managing Director of DA Racing.
“The arrival of the cars to our premises allows us to prepare in the best conditions for our participation in one of the World Championships most publicised in motor sport today. It’s important for DA Racing to move to the next level in all areas, the cars are just the first part. We will continue by going into a recruitment phase at all levels, for drivers and staff.”
Jean-Baptiste Dubourg grabbed the World RX headlines in 2014 at the World RX of France where he finished third behind Sweden’s Timmy Hansen and Norway’s Petter Solberg in an older Citroen C4.
In 2016 the team campaigned a newly built Citroen DS3 Supercar with Jean-Baptiste taking part in the World RX of Hockenheim and in Euro RX whilst Andrea drove the car in French RX. Despite a difficult start to the year, the car was on the pace by the end of the season after a lot of hard work from the team.
No announcement has been made regarding the driver lineup for the coming season.
