Team RX Racing have confirmed that they will be attending the 2017 Autosport International Show in Birmingham this week as well as taking part in the Live Action Arena.

The squad have been working on plans for a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Rallycross in the arena which sees lead driver Ollie O’Donovan will be driving his FIA European Rallycross Championship event-winning Ford Focus Supercar. A host of other famous names from the FIA World Rallycross Championship and the MSA British Rallycross Championship will be taking part including Tony Bardy in his front-wheel drive Vauxhall Astra.

“We had a stand at the Autosport Show last year and had a great response from competitors and fans, but it’s really special this year that we are able to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the sport in the Live Action Arena,” explained the 2016 British RX runner up.

“We have worked hard with Shirley Gibson from the Retro Rallycross Championship to put the rallycross performance together and it’s very exciting to have such a fantastic list of rallycross names for the crowds to enjoy across the four days. I’m personally really looking forward to driving in the arena, I’ve done it in the past and it’s a lot of fun.

The RX150 Rallycross Championship buggies will be out in force with 2016 Champion Chrissy Palmer showing off the machinery alongside World RX drivers Reinis Nitiss and Janis Baumanis, who have both made guest appearances in the category.

The team will also be announcing its plans for the 2017 season and will have the newly liveried FIA World Rallycross Championship specification Ford Fiesta Supercar on display at hall 7, stand number 7015 for the duration of the show. During the 2016 season the squad took part in British RX, Euro RX and World RX. Alongside the Fiesta Supercar on the stand will be an RX150 buggy, with driver announcements ahead of the 2017 RX150 Rallycross Championship taking place on Thursday.

O’Donovan is looking forward to the announcements due to take place during the show. “I can’t wait to reveal the new livery of our Euro RX Fiesta Supercar on the stand. We have some exciting news about our plans for this season to announce and some news about the RX150 Rallycross Championship too. It’s going to be a busy but fun weekend.”
