Provisional grids drawn for World RX of Portugal Q1

The provisional grids for the 2017 World RX of Portugal in Montalegre have been drawn and Q1 will feature five races.

Lining up on the grid for the first race will be EKS RX’s Toomas ‘Topi’ Heikkinen in the Audi S1, Team STARD’s Timur Timerzyanov in the Ford Fiesta and MJP Racing Team Austria’s Kevin Eriksson in his Ford Fiesta.

R2 will feature Team Peugeot-Hansen’s Kevin Hansen in the Peugeot 208, Grégoire Demoustier in the DA Racing Peugeot 208, Hoonigan Racing’s Andreas Bakkerud and former DTM champion and MJP Racing Team Austria driver Timo Scheider.

Speedy Motorsport’s ‘CSUCSU’ heads the grid in the Kia Rio for R3 with PSRX Volkswagen Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson in the Volkswagen Polo GTi alongside, Niclas Grönholm in the GRX Ford Fiesta, Rene Muennich’s ALL-INKL.com Muennich Motorsport Seat Ibiza and British hope Guy Wilks in the Loco World RX Team Volkswagen Polo.

Defending world champion Mattias Ekström is on pole for R4 in his EKS RX Audi S1, with Bompiso Racing Team’s Joaquim Santos in the Ford Fiesta, the EKS RX Audi S1 of Renis Nitiss, head-Hoonigan Ken Block in his Ford Fiesta, and Team Peugeot-Hansen’s Timmy Hansen in the Peugeot 208.

For the final race of Q1 Martin Kaczmarski starts from pole in the privately entered Ford Fiesta, ahead of DA Racing’s Jean-Baptiste Dubourg in the Peugeot 208, Team STARD’s Ford Fiesta of Janis Baumanis, Former world champion Petter Solberg in the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden Volkswagen Polo GTi, and rally legend Sébastien Loeb in the Team Peugeot-Hansen Peugeot 208.
