With a total of 53 points from five Grand Prix, Vijay Mallya is pleased with the performance of Sahara Force India F1 Team during the 2017 Formula 1 season.

The Silverstone-based outfit is currently fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, 19 points behind Red Bull Racing who are their current competitor. Both Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon have finished all five Grand Prix in the points, leading to their impressive performance. As the team head to Monaco this weekend, Mallya reflects on their current performance as well as remembering the strong memories from last year’s Grand Prix, where Perez finished third.

“I’m very pleased with our performance over the first quarter of the year,” said Mallya. “53 points from five races is a tremendous achievement.

“I’m proud to see Sahara Force India strengthen its fourth place in the championship. There is a great atmosphere in the team at the moment and plenty of determination. The VJM10 has improved race by race; we’ve continued to develop and we are performing well across some very different tracks.

“Monaco this week is always a special case with its unique layout, but we simply need to keep up our consistency and pick up points at every race. Our podium in Monaco last year was a special moment and those memories are still strong.”
