The launch of the 2018 World RX of Great Britain event will take place at Silverstone next week and will be attended by WRC star Mikko Hirvonen and the JRM World RX squad.
The Media event will take place on Tuesday 30 May 2017, exactly one year ahead of the inaugural SpeedMachine Festival which already has the date set for 25-27 May, 2018.
Many of the top drivers from the FIA World Rallycross Championship will be in attendance including Double World RX Champion Petter Solberg, Mutiple World RX race winners Johan Kristoffersson and Andreas Bakkerud, whilst British driver Guy Wilks will also join in the fun.
During the event there will be a car parade through the international pit boxes, Codemaster’s DiRT 4 simulators, street food and music entertainment from DJ BBQ.
There will also be Supercars and passenger laps on the new Silverstone rallycross circuit. Tickets for the 2018 World RX event will go on sale from Tuesday.
Jason King, Managing Director at JRM explained his excitement for this new venue.
“The new Silverstone RX track is great news for us at JRM, as it’s really near our Midlands headquarters and automotive development centre.”
The chance to have Hirvonen test the car for the first time is an opportunity not to be missed though.
“We are really excited to be one of the first teams to try out the new track and build up some test time on our new JRM group’s MINI developments, with Mikko on board to provide expert feedback ahead of 2018 season.”
JRM is offering one lucky fan the chance of a passenger ride with Hirvonen around the new rallycross track at Silverstone. To enter, fans must head over to JRM’s social media channels and enter online.
