BRDC British F3 Championship leader Enaam Ahmed left the Snetterton weekend happy with his results as he picked up another two victories, surpassing Toby Sowery‘s record of five from last year.
Ahmed, who is now up to six victories for the year, currently leads the championship by 44 points over nearest rival Cameron Das. He lined up on the front row for the first race of the weekend initially falling behind Sowery, before sailing past teammate James Pull in the opening stages when the Brit ran wide as they came onto the back straight.
“We’ve had great pace here all weekend and I knew that it was going to be one of my strongest tracks of the season – so it’s good to capitalise on that with win number six.” said Ahmed.
“Toby [Sowery] was really quick, especially in the opening laps when it took me a little while to get my tyres in, so he pushed me in the first part of the race. It’s been a great season so far but we all have our strengths and weaknesses – this track is a strength for me so it will be interesting to see what happens elsewhere in the season.”
Silverstone is next up for the drivers, with Ahmed having only finished on the podium once at the venue. This success came in 2015, where he picked up a third during the controversial final MSA Formula race of the weekend.
