The Sahara Force India F1 Team believes they can build on their strong start to the 2017 Formula 1 Season this weekend when the championship heads to Montreal.

The Silverstone-based outfit have had a great start to the championship, as both cars have finished within the top ten. The Monaco Grand Prix broke this streak though, as neither driver took the VJM10 to a point scoring position, leaving them empty-handed for the first time this season.

Despite this disappointment, there are still positives that Force India can take away from their performance at the Monte Carlo street circuit that leaves them feeling optimistic for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix. Looking forward, team boss Vijay Mallya believes it’s important to get back into their rhythm, with the team’s added confidence with their performance.

“I was naturally disappointed to see us leave Monaco empty-handed,” said Mallya. “Operationally we were strong and the car showed good pace, but sometimes the luck doesn’t go your way and there’s nothing you can do.

“The positives we take from Monaco leave us feeling optimistic for Canada. The car is working well and we’ve made progress over the last few races. The confidence throughout the team continues to grow.

“We approach every race knowing we can fight for points. It’s important we get back into our rhythm in Montreal and build on our strong start to the year.”
