The 2017 Total 24 Hours of Spa race week is officially underway after the completion of the Bronze Test yesterday.
The test presents the less experienced drivers with the opportunity to test around the iconic Belgian circuit ahead of the main practice and qualifying sessions on Thursday.
A total of 27 cars took part in the test with the #67 Attempto Racing Lamborghini leading the way in terms of distance as they lapped 48 times around the 4.35 mile circuit.
While the session took place mainly in wet conditions there was a chance to get some ‘dry’ running in towards the end as the rain stopped.
The #26 Sainteloc Racing Audi set the fastest time in the wet at the hands of double Spa-winner Fred Bouvy, but Christian Krognes in the #35 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW put in a time in the closing stages of the session to set a time of 2:26.155, nearly two seconds faster than David Perel in the #888 Kessel Racing Ferrari, and Gabriele Piana in the #18 Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG in third.
While there is no track action today, there is the traditional parade from the centre of Spa to the legendary circuit, giving the public a glimpse of the 64 cars due to do battle over the weekend.
