Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat completed 54 laps during the afternoon session on day two of the Hungary test, posting a fastest lap time of 1:19.116.

The Russian was pleased with the progress made across the afternoon, and felt the data gathered would definitely help the Faenza based squad to improve their performance during the second half of the season.

“It was a good afternoon of testing. We tried quite a few things and learned a lot – we will now have to develop these new learnings, and hopefully it will serve us well in the future.”

Kvyat feels being able to test straight after a race weekend is a huge benefit, allowing the team to concentrate on specific areas that they would not usually have time to focus on prior to a grand prix.

“It’s always nice to test after a race weekend to find some new answers to things we were not able to try in Free Practice or Qualifying, for example.”

The Faenza based squad were able to work on a number of car-balance limitations they noticed during the recent race weekend, and made some improvements accordingly, which they feel will be useful to them during the second half of the season.

The Russian is now looking forward to the summer break, where he can rest and reset ahead of the upcoming races, and hopefully enjoy a much less incident packed campaign.

“Now we go for a deserved holiday to recharge batteries and try again in the second half of the season.”
