Reigning Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup Teams champions Rob Boston Racing are planning to mount entries into the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and TCR UK for the first time next season.
The Supercup Teams triumph followed a 2016 drivers title with Tom Wrigley, while the team also have a rich history of success in the Lotus Cup and Mazda MX-5’s.
Team boss Rob Boston previous aspired to contest the Carrera Cup GB back in 2013, and got a taste of the latest generation GT3 Cup car at a taster day at Silverstone recently.
“We’ve done very well with Ginettas over the past few years and we’re speaking to quite a few drivers at the moment who are looking into it [for 2018],” Boston told Motorsport News.
“With the new 2018 Carrera Cup car we are very much trying to field two cars in the Porsches next year. It’s the best sorted car I’ve driven – it handles well.”
Boston himself tasted Mazda MX5 title success back in 2010 and the team will compete full-time in the MX-5 Supercup on the support package of the TCR UK series.
The Doncaster racer attended last week’s TCR UK taster day at Brands Hatch and admits he is talking to a couple of manufacturers about potential collaborations.
