Tio Ellinas took the second pole position of his Porsche Carrera Cup GB career as the championship prepared for round nine.

Ellinas looked strong throughout the session but was challenged by championship rival Dino Zamparelli, rookie George Gamble, Porsche GB 2018/19 Junior Dan Harper, and Lewis Plato.

Championship leader Ellinas took the top spot with an advantage of 0.286 seconds over Zamparelli and just 0.543 seconds covered the entire Pro grid.

Jamie Orton will lead the Pro-Am category away ahead of Dan Vaughan, who was promoted up the grid after a technical infringement by debutant Jake Giddings, who along with team-mate Steve Gales will start from the back of the grid with a  10 second penalty.

Peter Mangion and Peter Kyle-Henney head up the Am category with Mangion getting the better of his main rival. Iain Dockerill put in a bid for third place but was beaten by Dan Kirby by 0.034 seconds on his debut.

Ellinas, Orton, and Mangion all receive two championship points for their pole positions.
