At around 03.00 CEST during the Total 24 Hours of Spa, an accident occurred at Raidillon involving the #31 Team Parker Racing Bentley of Andy Meyrick and the #666 Attempto Racing Lamborghini driven by Jürgen Krebs.

The race was red-flagged for an hour, and both drivers were successfully extracted from their cars. They were conscious when taken to the circuit medical centre, then transferred to hospital.

Both drivers have suffered severe fractures and, due to the high-speed nature of the accident, are currently being kept under observation in intensive care. However, neither has suffered life-threatening injuries.

Photographs of the cars following the incident appear to show severe front-end damage to both machines, indicating that the injuries sustained to the drivers could be to their lower extremities.

The SRO praised the work of the marshalls and the medical crews, saying “SRO Motorsports Group would like to thank the circuit medical staff and track marshals for their assistance, while also wishing both drivers a full and speedy recovery.”

Earlier in the morning the #114 Emil Frey Lexus RC-F GT3, driven by Stéphane Ortelli, went off track at Eau Rouge. Ortelli was also taken to hospital for medical checks.

We will update you on their condition when we have the information.
