Marcus Ericsson feels ready and recharged for the remaining nine races of the season after the summer break, with the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team driver hoping for a fourth points finish of the season at Spa Francorchamps this weekend.

It has been four weeks since the last track action in the Hungarian Grand Prix and the Swede, who has raced in eighty-eight Grand Prix since debuting back in 2014, feels it is good to return at a circuit with such history and prestige as Spa-Francorchamps, a circuit he scored a tenth place finish back in 2015.

Ericsson has scored points in the Bahrain, Austrian and German Grand Prix so far this season and his five points ensures he sits seventeenth in the Drivers’ Championship heading to this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, with the Swede feeling that the circuit should suit the characteristics of his C37-Ferrari well.

“We’re off to Belgium for the first race after the break,” said Ericsson.  “We are coming back recharged after a nice summer, and it is great to kick-off the second half of the season at one of the best tracks on the calendar – the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

“It is uniquely challenging and always a great circuit to drive on. We have the opportunity to build on a strong first half of the season, on a track that should suit us quite well.

“The unpredictable weather conditions could add an extra twist and make it even more exciting to race there. I look forward to the weekend.”
