Having enjoyed the new challenge of developing the GRX Taneco Hyundai i20 Supercars so far in the first half of the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship, Timur Timerzyanov has used the time off well.
However, the 2018 World RX of Canada is one of the events he enjoys most during the year and the Russian driver is hoping to return to the podium finish he took back in 2014.

“How was the mid-season break? Very good – I got married, so I had a fantastic time with my wife and my family and friends,” said Timerzyanov.
“I also had the opportunity to do some go-kart racing and, of course, I caught up on some rest. I’m now rearing to go!”
Ready and willing to take on the challenge of the street circuit of Trois-Rivières with the high speed of the start straight and the close walls that can often lead to the end of a drivers race, Timerzyanov is confident of a good performance in Canada.

“The Canadian track is one of my favourites. I finished on the podium on my first appearance there in 2014. Since then, I’ve always had good pace and hope to put in a solid performance this year,” explains the former Double FIA European Rallycross Champion.
“It’s a very fast circuit with long straights which promise some impressive peak speeds. It’s always a great atmosphere there as the track is in the middle of town. The team has done a lot of work to get the cars ready during the break and I know we’ll be competitive.”
