Sebastian Vettel was quickest in Free Practice 3 as Scuderia Ferrari laid down another marker for this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix.
The German pipped Ferrari team-mate Kimi Räikkönen by less than a tenth of a second as the Italian team completed a clean sweep of practice sessions.
The two Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas were third and fourth fastest as they try to take the fight to Ferrari, while Aston Martin Red Bull Racing ended fifth and sixth as the top three teams all went two by two at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with Max Verstappen ahead of Daniel Ricciardo.
Charles Leclerc impressed once again as he was best of the rest in seventh for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team ahead of the Racing Point Force India F1 Team of Sergio Pérez.
Nico Hülkenberg was ninth fastest for the Renault Sport Formula One Team but frustrated both Ferrari’s early in the session with Esteban Ocon rounding out the top ten in the second Force India.
Marcus Ericsson was eleventh as Sauber showed they could be a shout to reach Q3 in Qualifying, which for the Swede would be his first time there since 2015!
Haas F1 Team have struggled so far this weekend as Romain Grosjean was twelfth with Kevin Magnussen fourteenth sandwiching the Renault of Carlos Sainz Jr.
The Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda of Pierre Gasly had a spin coming out off the pitlane at the end of the session as he was fifteenth fastest ahead of Brendon Hartley in sixteenth.
The two Williams Martini Racing cars were seventeenth and eighteenth ahead of McLaren F1 Team.
McLaren were attempting to try the tow up the Kemmel straight throughout the session but Stoffel Vandoorne brought out the red flag with ten minutes to go when he spun after being pushed onto the grass by Bottas as he tried to keep up with Fernando Alonso.
Another session with Ferrari on top but the important stuff begins this afternoon.
