The ‘British Bomb’ Liam Doran will return to the wheel of the GC Kompetition Renault Mégane R.S. RX this weekend as the FIA World Rallycross Championship heads to Riga, Latvia.

Marking his return to top level rallycross, Doran made it in to the semi-finals at Lohéac on his team debut.

“We’re excited to have Liam back at GCK again for Latvia RX alongside Guerlain.” said Karl O’Sullivan, GC Kompetition Team Manager.

“Liam was a great addition to the team in Loheac, he put down some really impressive times and showcased some awesome driving until picking up a puncture in the semi-final.

“His experience in and passion for Rallycross was felt both on and off the track and we look forward to seeing him back with GCK in Riga.”

Doran fought hard in France and is looking forward in getting another race in the Mégane R.S. RX, and despite not having raced at Riga before, is optimistic at what can be achieved.

“I am stoked to be given another opportunity to drive this insane car with this amazing team this weekend.” said Doran. “It was a dream come true to get the chance to drive at such a high level in France.

“I feel I made the most of my opportunity and am happy with my semi-final but feel I have some unfinished business. I cannot wait to get back in it this weekend at Riga, a very cool track I’ve never driven.

“We went into the last event with no expectations… but let’s just say I’m starting this one with some!”
