Despite only managing seventh place on last weekend’s Kennards Hire Rally Australia, Craig Breen wanted to take the positives from his weekend.
Breen, driving the second Citroen Abu Dhabi World Rally Team C3 WRC, survived several small mistakes throughout the event and ended up seventh at the end of the rally, albeit nearly nine minutes behind winner Jari-Matti Latvala following an incident midway through the event.
Speaking after the final round of the 2018 World Rally Championship, Breen said: “It’s been a really tough event for us, especially since our mistake yesterday meant we had to open the road on these very tricky stages today. Saying that, the positive for me is that once again we had really good pace in the C3 WRC, especially during the first leg.”
Breen had been lying in second at the beginning of day two, before on stage 11 he suffered suspension damage that cost him a strong result in Australia.
