Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team driver Marcus Ericsson has spoken of his disappointment after failing to finish the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Ericsson, alongside team-mate Charles Leclerc, started well, from sixth and seventh on the grid.

“A disappointing end to such a great weekend.  I had contact with another car just after the start, and after that, the car was difficult to drive.”

This contact seemed to tarnish Ericsson’s whole weekend, as the team were forced to retire the car.  However, the Swede is confident they were come back fighting in time for the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi next weekend.

“The balance was different to the rest of the weekend and the damage became worse and worse.

“We had to retire the car from the race – a shame, especially after such a fantastic qualifying, but we will come back stronger at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.”
