Newly-crowned Ginetta GT4 Supercup champion Charlie Ladell and Renault UK Clio Cup stars Paul Rivett and Max Coates were amongst a host of drivers to drive Porsche Carrera Cup GB machinery yesterday (31 October).
The championship ran their annual taster day at Silverstone to give prospective drivers the opportunity to try out Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machinery around the Grand Prix circuit, and speak to series officials, teams and current drivers.
Leading teams including JTR, Team Parker Racing and Redline Racing were in attendance, while current Porsche GB Junior driver Daniel Harper and his predecessor Charlie Eastwood were on hand to offer advice.
A wide range of drivers got a taste of the action, with both 2018 Supercup champions getting out on track; outright victor Ladell and AM class winner Michael Crees alongside fellow Supercup racers Tom Roche and Jac Constable.
Rivett, Coates and Bradley Burns swapped their Clio Cup racers for a 485hp Porsche, while Ginetta Junior graduate Greg Johnson and GT5 Challenge driver Max Bird made the big leap up from their Ginetta G40s.
BTCC star Brett Smith was another to enjoy some track time, as was British GT4 champion Jack Mitchell, MINI Challenge front-runner Jordan Collard, NASCAR Euro Series contender Alex Sedgwick and Callum Cripps.
