2018 British Formula 4 champion Kiern Jewiss will remain with Douglas Motorsport for an assault on the BRDC British F3 championship crown. Jewiss scored one win and nine podiums en-route to fourth in the 2019 British F3 standings, staying in championship contention until the final round of the championship after a difficult first half of the season.
Jewiss is excited to get the 2020 season going, where for once in his career he will no longer be one of the youngest drivers on the grid.
“I am really excited about taking on the BRDC British F3 Championship once more alongside Douglas Motorsport,” said Jewiss.
“Thanks to a lot of their help and support, I learnt so much about the championship last year and I’m convinced we can use that to good effect in 2020.
“I have a great relationship with the whole team and together we got the car into a great place towards the latter part of last season.
“The challenge this time round is to pick up where we left off and start the season strong.
“As always in BRDC British F3, the competition is going to be incredibly tough, and there’s a few new changes to the car, but I’m as motivated as ever to have the best year possible.”
Douglas team boss Wayne Douglas said: “Ever since we first ran him in Ginetta Junior, it’s been clear the immense talent Kiern possesses and he showcased it again last year.
“In particular, the way he ended the season was hugely impressive and bodes well for 2020.”
The 2020 BRDC British F3 championship begins on 11-13 April at Oulton Park supporting the British GT championship. Jewiss’s signing makes him the fourth driver confirmed for the championship so far.
