Speaking at the Scuderia AlphaTauri launch Danill Kvyat expressed his excitement regarding the team’s rebrand from Scuderia Toro Rosso as the team launched the AT01 at the Red Bull Hangar-7 facility in Austria.

The Russian is excited for the change with the Red Bull fashion brand now involved in Formula 1.

The launch saw a showcase of the clothing available from the brand, before the reveal of the new car, which would debut at Misano Circuit for the shakedown at the weekend.

“For us, I think as a team it’s a great thing,” said Kvyat. “It’s exciting and the clothes are great – very easy to travel with. Obviously last year was really competitive for us in terms of team performance, and we will try to do something similar this year.

He touched on the final year of Toro Rosso explaining it was a very positive, seeing him get a podium at the 2019 Formula 1 German Grand Prix, as he took third place. Additionally, there was also a podium for his teammate, Pierre Gasly in Brazil.

I think we have a very strong baseline and we’re going to try to do as many of those strong races that we had last year. We’re going to try and repeat them more and more often. It should bring us good results like this and I really hope it’s going to work out.”

Kvyat talked about the new car which would be coming for the 2020 FIA Formula 1 Championship, explaining that he feels the car will be very strong, as the partnership with Honda also continues.
