Matevos Isaakyan has been confirmed to be joining Rene Binder and Kuba Smiechowski onboard the #34 Inter Europol Ligier JS P17 Gibson.

With the European Le Mans Series still scheduled for the July start at Paul Ricard, it’s certainly a good place to jump back into the cockpit of LMP machinery after his last win was at the circuit. This addition see’s the completion of their #34 squad with their #33 still to be announced before the season launches in roughly a months time.

“I’m very excited to join #34 crew of Inter Europol Competition team for the 2020 ELMS season and 24h of Le Mans . I’m looking forward to be driving with, instead of against, my old competitors from the World Series, Rene and Kuba. I think we have a very strong crew and can’t wait to prove it on track.” said Matevos Isaakyan.

Team manager Sascha Fassbender is excited about the lineup and looking forward to a strong season ahead, “We are all looking forward to the season to start after this long and difficult break and are happy to have these three strong drivers together in one car. They have known each other a long time and can build on each others strong points. It will be an interesting season.”

The addition of Isaakyan certainly strengthens the Inter Europol team heading into a very busy season for everyone. The experience gained at SMP Racing in the LMP2 and the LMP1 machines will be great knowledge when the team head to the great race in September.
