Frank Bird will return with Fortec Motorsport for his BRDC British Formula 3 debut at Donington Park.
After having previously raced with Fortec during his 2016 British Formula 4 campaign, and following seasons in Formula Renault Eurocup and NEC, Bird will return to the team to make his 2020 BRDC British Formula 3 debut.
Recently, as part of the Bentley Young Driver Academy, Bird currently races for Team Parker in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
Richard Dutton, Team Principal, commented: “Everybody at Fortec Motorsport is delighted to welcome Frank back to the team. We always pride ourselves on maintaining a good relationship with our network of graduates – it really is a family of sorts – and when the opportunity rose to work with Frank again, it was a no-brainer.
“He has plenty of experience, which will be a useful benchmark for Roberto too as they both prepare to make their British F3 debuts. It’s a challenging series, but they can go in with no expectations and just enjoy the experience. We’re really excited to see how they both get on this weekend at Donington Park.”
Frank Bird said: “It’s great to be making my debut in British F3 this weekend and it’s mega to be back with my old team, Fortec. I wasn’t expecting this, to be honest, but I’m looking forward to it, I know it’s going to be tough having never driven the car before, or the GP track at Donington Park, but I will be giving it my best.
“I have to say thanks to Team Parker Racing for allowing me to do this, and of course to my sponsors for their continued support.”
