Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup France Pro-Am champion Nicolas Misslin will return to the grid for the 2021 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season with the Lechner Racing team.
Misslin will defend his title in France and represent the Lechner Racing team in the Pro-Am category of the Supercup, following a single outing in 2020 with the team at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Frenchman is proud to be part of the team and is going to be giving it everything a bid to bring home the title for team founder Walter Lechner, who sadly passed away last year.
“I am honoured to do this new season with Lechner Racing again,” said Misslin. “Of course I very often think of Walter, who last year trusted me to take on the challenge of winning a third consecutive title. But even more important he always found the right and honest words. He built a team of fantastic people with whom it’s a great pleasure to work with. We will miss him a lot, but his legacy will give us the strength to continue what we started together.
Lechner Racing Team Manager Michael Schöch added, “It’s great to be able to built on our successful experiences in the past and on the confidence we already have in each other in both championships.
“The trust Nicolas is showing in our team is also an additional motivation for us. Of course the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is even a bit more international and competitive, but he is in good hands with Lechner Racing and we will definitely aim for the title there as well.”
