Leading Lamborghini Super Trofeo racer Jake Rattenbury is set to make the switch to the Porsche brand for 2021 as he joins the grid for the new season of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Team Redline Racing.

Rattenbury raced with the team in the 2020 season finale at Brands Hatch, securing a Pro Am podium on his debut; now for 2021 the Welshman is making the full time switch for his first full season in the series.

In 2014 and 2015 Rattenbury was crowned the Lamborghini World Champion, leading to him gaining a spot as a Lamborghini Squadra Corsa Factory Young Driver for two seasons, racing across Europe, America and Asia.

“I am very proud to be joining Team Redline Racing, a team with such presence and experience in the Porsche paddock. I enjoyed racing with them last season, so it was a no brainer to return to them for a full Carrera Cup GB season.” said Rattenbury.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the track and getting more time in the car ahead of the new season. It’s going to be a tough learning year in such a competitive championship, but I am excited for the challenge of getting back on the top step!”

Rattenbury will be hoping to call up his experience of racing on UK circuits once again after starting his career in Ginetta’s, and then going on to racing both GT3 and GT4 in the British GT Championship, he also became the GTC class champion in the GT Cup in 2017.

Simon Leonard, Managing Director of Team Redline Racing added, “It was great to have Jake as part of the team for the final round last season, and we were immediately impressed by both his professionalism off track and raw speed on track as he took a richly deserved class podium finish.

“That is a solid platform for Jake to build on as he embarks on a full season this year. Getting some good pre-season running under his belt will be important for his progress in the car, and we’re confident he’ll hit the ground running from the opening weekend.”
