Douglas Motorsport have announced their first driver for the 2021 BRDC British F3 Championship, in the form of Saudi Arabian Reema Juffali.

Douglas are entering their sixth season in the series, having run Ulysse de Pauw, Kiern Jewiss and Manaf Hijjawi in 2020. De Pauw won Round 6 at the championship’s first visit to Donington Park, and Round 18 at Snetterton 300, while Jewiss took the spoils in the first race of the season at Oulton Park.

Juffali started her motorsport career in 2018, competing in the TRD 86 Cup and Asia’s MRF Challenge, finishing second in the TRD 86 Cup’s Silver class and fourth overall. Her MRF Challenge campaign took in the last five races at Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, India, yielding a best finish of ninth place.

The MRF Challenge is often used as a way for junior single-seater drivers to keep their eye in over winter, with Jamie Chadwick winning the 2018/19 championship. Patrik Pasma, Jack Doohan, Linus Lundqvist and Josh Mason were some other notable names that season.

MP Motorsport‘s Formula 2 prospect Felipe Drugovich won the 2017/18 series, with Haas new boy Mick Schumacher finishing third in 2016/17, and Dan Ticktum coming 12th after competing in just four races.

Juffali finished 13th in the 2019 FIA Formula 4 British Championship with Double R Racing, with best finishes of eighth at Thruxton and Knockhill.

She finished eighth in the 2020 Formula 4 UAE Championship, finishing fifth in both visits to the Dubai International Circuit.

Once the 2020 motorsport calendar finally got underway, she returned to British F4 with Argenti Motorsport, taking 12 points-finishes to secure 13th in the standings for her second consecutive season in British racing.

On her graduation to BRDC British F3, Juffali said,

“I’m looking forward to taking this next step of my career with Douglas Motorsport. I felt right at home with the team during the test and really enjoyed driving the F3 car. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again.

Wayne Douglas, Douglas Motorsport Team Owner, added,

“We are delighted to be continuing in the BRDC British F3 Championship this season. It is one of the most competitive junior single-seater categories in Europe and we’re determined to be up there fighting at the sharp end of the grid once again.

“We’re looking forward to having Reema race with us this season. She showed fantastic progress across her two seasons in British F4 and impressed us with her speed during our first British F3 test together. We’re excited to see what she can achieve this season.”

The 2021 British F3 season is expected to get underway alongside the Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Brands Hatch on 22/23 May.
