Car launch season is very much upon us! The McLaren F1 Team has already announced that it’ll be debuting its MCL36 Formula 1 car at a huge multi-team launch event on February 11 and the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 Team has already announced that the AMR22 will be unveiled to the world on February 10. Now the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari have announced dates for their F1 car launches and it’s safe to say that we’re all getting pretty excited about it!
Mercedes will be unveiling its highly-anticipated W13 on February 18 in what it calls “a special digital launch event from Silverstone.” The W13 will also go through its first shakedown later that same day. Meanwhile, Ferrari will reveal its new car on February 17. Ferrari’s new car has also been highly anticipated, especially following recent comments made by Team Principal Mattia Binotto about its potential. Whilst there are currently no details about exactly how the launch events are going to be staged so far, we can definitely expect something very extravagant from Ferrari given the company’s previous launches!
Of course, many people may be watching the Mercedes event due to the speculation that Sir Lewis Hamilton may not rejoin the team this year. If Hamilton does show up at the launch event, it would be a pretty defining confirmation as to his status within the team. If he doesn’t… well, it could mean that a shocking change is about to happen within the Mercedes team. As things are right now, we will have to wait and see…
