ROKiT has unveiled they have become the British Formula 4 Championship partner.
Alongside the partnership announcement, ROKiT have also announced a brand new ‘Racing Star’ programme.
The scheme will select thirty-two 14–15-year-olds from the ever-growing Esports scene and will award 2 lucky drivers (one boy and one girl) a fully funded seat in British F4 for the 2023 season with the FIA Rising Star Team; supported by Hitech GP.
Also included is a six-month training programme and 25 days of testing alongside Motorsport UK Academy.
Bob Fernley, previous deputy team principal at F1’s Force India and head of the FIA Single-Seater commission is leading the programme.
Motorsport UK Boar member and ex F1 driver, Karun Chandhok, commented: “For aspiring single-seater drivers, this now has to be the go-to destination to start their journey on the FIA’s Single-Seater Pathway. What Motorsport UK have put together alongside the likes of ROKiT, McLaren, Pirelli, Tatuus and Abarth is going to make a real difference for drivers at a crucial stage in their development.
“This is the proving ground for the stars of the future, and I think it’s safe to say Formula 1 and the rest of the motorsport community is definitely looking to British F4 for the next superstar in 2022 and beyond.”
Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and Co-founder of the ROKiT group of companies commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Motorsport UK as the Title Partner of the ROKiT F4 British Championship, which historically has been the launch pad for so many world-famous drivers, and to be announcing today the highly innovative ROKiT Racing Stars eRacing initiative.
“These exciting programmes are fully aligned with each other with the main aim of encouraging and developing the next generation of young motor racing talent, both boys and girls, and giving the best of them clear opportunities to progress further and rapidly in the sport.
“We have ambitious and exciting plans to help the F4 British Championship become more popular than ever amongst drivers and fans alike and to cross-promote the championship with ROKiT’s other motor sport sponsorships around the world.
“Through ROKiT Racing Stars and being Title Partner of the British F4 means ROKiT will be involved in the recruitment, development and progress of new talent in motor sports. We plan to keep a close eye on the progress of these young drivers as they follow in the footsteps of many legends in the sport.”
