AKK Release Rally Finland Date for 2023

The Finnish motorsport governing body AKK have now released the dates for next year for all of the national championships which also includes the potential date of hosting the FIA World Rally Championship round at.

These dates were announced on 6 April and now it opens up for the local motorsport organisations to place a bid on hosting an event at the selected dates by the governing body.

For WRC, the AKK have set the Rally Finland to be hosted on the first weekend of August, between 3-6 August, same weekend as they are using for this season.

The date for the rally will still need to be approved by the FIA and it may be changed as the final calendar will be presented at late autumn.

Last year the organisation of Rally Finland signed a two-year contract which is valid to 2023.

Kuldar Sikk recovering from broken spine at Central European Rally

Kuldar Sikk broke his spine and underwent emergency surgery after an accident while supporting Ott Tänak’s gravel crew during last Friday’s Central European Rally. It is unknown if he can heal up in time to be Benediktas Vanagas’ co-driver for the 2025 Dakar Rally.
