Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux with strong backing from both the French Motorsport Federation and Red Bull have had a messy season with M-Sport Ford WRT this year as the Frenchman took the step up in the Rally1 class together with co-driver Alexandre Coria.
The mess started right away, a spectacular crash in Rallye Monte-Carlo, and then technical problems, crashes and other mess have followed each other. At the same time, during the autumn he had to skip a couple of Rally1 starts when spare parts and budget at M-Sport were missing.
No information about 2023 has been given yet, but both parties wish to continue together. In an announcement from M-Sport on Tuesday, M-Sport explains that they are putting the Frenchman at the start of the Austrian Jänner Rally at the beginning of the year, a competition that is decided on a basis similar to the Rallye Monte-Carlo.
The start is made as a preparation for the rest of 2023, mentions M-Sport, which is therefore predicted to extend its partnership with Fourmaux in some form. The start in Austria takes place with the Ford Fiesta Rally2 where the team ZM Racing is responsible for the operation on behalf of M-Sport.
