Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has more passion for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship than ever and showed his drive to get back to the top with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team at the team’s 2023 car launch, where they revealed the W14.
The W14 will be Mercedes 2023 challenger as they look to bounce back from a poor 2022 season that saw them miss out on the Constructors Championship after winning it on their eight previous attempts. It was the first season since he joined Formula 1, that Hamilton hasn’t won a race in a season and he dropped to fifth in the driver standings coming behind his newly established team-mate George Russell, who picked up his first win in Brazil, with Hamilton finishing behind his fellow Brit.
Hamilton enters his tenth season with the German team and is proud to have been part of an incredible journey so far, and he is eager to add to his brilliant record that has seen him take one hundred and three race victories, one hundred and ninety-one podiums, one hundred and three pole positions and sixty-one fastest laps.
“I have been a part of this team for over a decade and the efforts of everyone never cease to amaze me, I find it inspiring how diligently and passionately each person approaches their work.”
Hamilton has looked towards the season opener in Bahrain in just a few week’s time and has reiterated his eagerness to win and get back to the top of Formula 1.
“I’m excited to go racing again. I feel calm, energised, and have my focus sharpened. I’m ready to do what’s necessary to win.”
