Following the approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council, the ACO announced the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship calendar on Friday 9 June during the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans 100th years celebrations.

The 2024 calendar will feature a fresh new look with a total of eight rounds taking place from almost all sides of the globe. Two new circuits will make their first appearance in the championship while two others will make a welcoming comeback.

As expected Sebring will not be hosting the opening round of the FIA WEC season in 2024, instead, the championship will be heading to the Middle East where the first new track for the calendar Lusail International Circuit in Qatar will host the Prologue in February before the opening-round takes place a couple of days later. The Qatar race will feature an 1812 kilometers long endurance session or a maximum of 10 hours in March.

From there the WEC will be going to Italy in April for a six-hour race at another new venue for the championship, the Imola circuit, which will replace the fan-favorite Monza that has played host for the Italian round in several seasons. After that WEC will return for the annual Spa-Francorchamps round in May before the 2024 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is taking place on 15/16 June.

After the most legendary race in the world, WEC will go over the Atlantic to the first returning circuit on the calendar as Brazil will be coming back for the first time since 2014 with a six-hour race at Interlagos in July. Also returning to the championship will be Circuit of the Americas in Texas in September when the Lone Star Le Mans will host the American round.

Also in September will be the annual six-hour race at the Fuji Speedway in Japan before rounding up the season with an eight-hour race in Bahrain.
