The organizers of the Rally Sweden, which is set to host the second round of the 2024 FIA World Rally Championship season, have announced the date of next year’s event and it is set to be hosted on 15-18 February 2024.
The competition is organized for the third time in the Umeå area in Northern Sweden. Previously, the rally was held in Värmland, but it was moved further north to guarantee better snow conditions for the only full snow rally on the calendar.
The program of next year’s rally will again include a special stage that runs through the crowd favorite at the Red Barn Arena, which is located right next to the center of Umeå. The itinerary will be presented later but fan-favorite stages such as Umeå Sprint, Brattby, Norrby, and Västervik are expected to return for the 2024 schedule.
“Now work begins on next year’s big Swedish rally party. We invest a lot in developing the experience for the upwards of 200,000 visitors who are expected to come. Just as much work is also put into providing all drivers with good conditions. For many of them, it is exotic to come to Sweden and drive a rally in the middle of winter on ice and snow.” Anna Nordkvist, CEO of Rally Sweden, said.
“With the Red Barn Arena located within walking distance from the center of Umeå, as the only WRC round, we can offer a first-class rally experience for a large audience. In our event area, we also offer experiences for the whole family.” Nordkvist continued.
The international automobile association FIA has not yet confirmed next year’s calendar, but for the classic rallies Sweden and Monte Carlo have already announced the dates of next year’s events. The Rallye Monte-Carlo opens as usual the upcoming WRC season on 25-28 January 2024 with the rally center set to return to the city of Gap next year.
