Lotterer hoping to stay in LMP1 for 2018

With Porsche dropping out of the LMP1 class at the end of the season, their drivers are looking around for 2018 drives. Andre Lotterer may stay in the WEC, tempted by the privateer LMP1 cars.
After a crazy and hectic race on the weekend, TheCheckeredFlag goes through what a rain-shortened race that awarded full points means for the 2017 championships.
The rain once again caused havoc this weekend as the should have been six-hour race had about three and a half hours of track racing. Toyota Gazoo Racing finished on top, bringing down the points gap to the #2 Porsche.
The championship-leading #2 Porsche has taken a competitive pole position ahead of tomorrow’s six-hour race. Vaillante Rebellion will lock out the front row of LMP2 for tomorrow’s race whilst Porsche and Ferrari were on top in the GTE classes.
At their home event, Toyota Gazoo Racing have taken the fastest lap ahead of qualifying. Jackie Chan DC Racing and Vaillante Rebellion continue to battle it out in LMP2, whislt Porsche remains the cars to beat in the GTE classes.
In a rain-shortened second pracitice session, Toyota Gazoo Racing finished with both cars ahead of Porsche. #38 Jackie Chan DC Racing took the top spot for LMP2, whilst Olivier Pla and Keita Sawa lead GTE Pro and Am.
At Toyota Gazoo Racing’s home track, Porsche drew first blood by sealing a one-two at the end of the first practice session. Jackie Chan DC Racing were the car to beat in LMP2 whilst Porsche dominated the Pro class. Ferrari dictated the pace in Am.
With just three rounds remaining of th 2017 Wold Endurance Championship, the grid heads to the Aisian continent for the first of its two rounds there. The Checkered Flag looks at which title battles could be wrapped up at the end of the next six-hour event.
ACO React to Peugeot Extended World RX Future

With the LMP1-H class potentially having only one team next year, the WEC have confirmed that from next year the two classes will be combined.
