Pirtek Racing Up For Brands “Challenge”

1 Mins read

Less than a week on from round two Pirtek Racing and Andrew Jordan are ready for round three of the British Touring Car Championship, with three races on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

After opening their points account for the year at Rockingham with three points scoring finishes Jordan believes that this weekend will only see him add to that tally, as the young driver seeks his first BTCC race win.

“We were competitive at Brands last year and after the speed shown at the last two rounds we have to be confident we will be able to challenge at the front once again,” says Jordan. “We improved in every race at Rockingham and we are certainly hoping that we can continue that improvement this weekend, the aim will be to achieve an overall podium and an Independent Class win.”

The 20-year-old also points to the NGTC turbo engine in his Vauxhall Vectra as a potential advantage around the fast Kent circuit. “Brands is a high speed, highly technical circuit with several cambered corners,” he explains. “So it can be a challenge to get the right set up on the car to suit the track. The tight high speed corners combined with the long back straight will make this circuit one which will suit the turbo power of our NGTC engine.”

The weekend has even more importance for the team, with the track being the closest event on the calendar to Pirtek UK's Acton headquarters.

Qualifying for the weekend takes place on Saturday will all three races on Sunday live on ITV4 where the coverage starts at 11:30am.
