Rookie Josh Price Completes BMR Squad For BTCC 2017

1 Mins read

Josh Price has been confirmed as the fourth BMR Racing driver for the 2017 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, racing under the BMR Academy.

Teenager Price will join Ashley Sutton, James Cole and double BTCC champion Jason Plato at the BMR squad in a Subaru Levorg GT this season, graduating from the Renault UK Clio Cup after just one year in the series.

Price was recently announced with Team Pyro earlier this month for another season in Clios with backing from the BMR Academy, before the opportunity arose to step up to the BTCC.

As a result, Price is not expected take to the track during the annual Media Day event at Donington Park, but plans to participate in a scheduled outing at Pembrey in South Wales prior to the season opener at Brands Hatch in April.

“I’m extremely overwhelmed by the support of my sponsors, BMR and Subaru to get me onto the BTCC grid this season at such short notice”, said Price.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge that’s ahead, as well as working with a team with such a great pedigree.”

On the deal, BMR Racing owner Warren Scott said: “We are thrilled to welcome Josh into the BMR Racing Academy BTCC Team and look forward to watching his progress throughout what promises to be an unforgettable year.”
