1 Mins read

So as we head to the winter months we are left with re-runs of races and championship reviews on a selection of channels, but if you are looking for your live motorsport fix you should check out the BARC Winter Series, which heads to Rockingham this Saturday (7 Nov).

With the chance to see potential future stars the series runs its second (and final) round of 2009, in previous years the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen have taken part, contending in the Formula Renault UK Winter Series.

The winner of last year's Formula UK Renault Winter Series James Calado went on to secure second place in the main 2009 championship receiving a nomination for the prestigious Autosport McLaren BRDC Award along the way.

The Formula UK Renault Winter Series will be joined by the Ginetta G50, Caterham Academy, plus the Ginetta Junions, fresh from supporting the BTCC 2009 series.

Rockingham Chairman, Len O'Hagan, said: “This event promises to provide some excellent racing action from four of the most exciting formulas. It is also a good opportunity for fans to watch some of the most promising young drivers and pick out the stars of the future.”

Tickets are only available on the gate and cost just £12 for adults, while children aged 15 and under, get in for free. Fans will not be restricted to the grandstand area as there will be an opportunity to watch the racing from the top of the pit garages and get close to the action with an open paddock.
