Molina completes Audi lineup

1 Mins read

21 year old Spaniard Miguel Molina will race for Audi’s factory Abt Sportsline team in this year’s DTM Championship, but in an old specification rather than the 2010 R14+ car.

Molina had impressed in a test session driving an A4 in the past, when he was just 18 years old. Now he has more experience on his shoulders from other series like the Formula 3 Euroseries, he has been picked up by the works squad.

“For me, a dream is coming true,” said Molina. “Driving for Audi in the DTM is simply fantastic. Audi is a fascinating brand with superb cars and the DTM has proven to be one of the world's toughest racing series. I'll give everything to live up to the expectations placed on me.”

However due to DTM regulations only allowing four current-spec cars per manufacturer, Molina will race using an older R14-spec A4, compared to the R14+ models being raced by team-mates Timo Scheider, Mattias Ekstrom, Martin Tomczyk and Oliver Jarvis this year.
