Auto Windscreens, Onslow-Cole for Team AON

Automotive glazing services company, Auto Windscreens has today confirmed its second season as a sponsor in the popular British Touring Car Championship.

The company will be backing the LPG powered Ford Focus ST cars of 25 year old Tom Chilton and 23 year old Tom Onslow-Cole in this seasons Dunlop MSA BTCC. The team will be the first team to run LPG in the series since John George in 2004.

Nigel Davies, the Sales and Marketing director for Auto Windscreens, commented on the sponsorship deal: “We are proud to be back as a sponsor in the 2010 BTCC. Being the only LPG cars on the grid this season, all eyes will be on the Team Aon drivers. Chilton and Onslow-Cole have both youth and ambition on their side and I am confident they will not disappoint in the 2010 season.”

The team principle of Team AON, Mike Earle, said about the deal: “We are looking forward to a competitive season with new Calor powered Ford Focus and we are delighted to welcome Auto Windscreens on-board for an exciting new partnership for a thrilling new season of racing.”

For Chilton, 2010 sees his second season in the Arena Motorsport prepared Team AON Ford Focus, and will be looking to build on his strong end of season form from the 2009 season, while Onslow-Cole is entering his first full season since he left the VX Racing outfit at the end of the 2008 season.

Chilton is credited as being the youngest ever competitor, when he made his debut as a 16 year old in 2002, and took a podium finish on his debut weekend. Chilton is also the youngest race winner, after taking his first win at Silverstone in 2004.

The opening rounds of the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship take place at Thruxton on the 3rd and 4th April.
