TCF Exclusive Blog: Archie Hamilton

1 Mins read

Hi Everyone!

This is my first TCF blog. This season I have been racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship, which is a highly competitive one make GT3 series. We made a decision to move into GT cars as Single Seaters just gets more and more expensive, and after a test in a GT3 car I was on the pace straight away.

The season has just been getting better and better, the more I've been getting used to the highly tricky Porsche Cup GT3 car, I’ve gained 3 Pro AM 1 Podiums and also Driver of the Weekend at Oulton Park ( a Circuit I wasn't a fan of before the weekend!)

One of the great highlights of the year was at Le Mans 24 Hours. I got asked by my team to do the Porsche Carrera Cup France support race to the Le Mans 24 Hours, I couldn't believe it. My Grandfather Duncan Hamilton won in a  Jaguar C Type in 1953 along with other success there, and I was going to racing there! The experience was invaluable and I had a fantastic result of eighth overall in a grid of over 40 cars, after fighting back from twenty-fourth after being punted off on the first lap, I took a Junior Class Podium. It just makes me so determined to race in the main race, and do my Grandfather proud!

We decided to focus on Sports Car racing for the end of the season, to look to the 2011 season. There are many plans that are in the pipeline for the end of the season, that all are very exciting. 2011 is also looking promising and hopefully I will be racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours!

I will keep you all updated with everything going on with my season, and news should be released next week of the plan for end of the season.

Thanks for reading!
