British Formula Three National Class champion Menasheh Idafar will move up to the International Class next year after signing a deal with T-Sport, the same team that ran him to is 2010 success.
Idafar has been completing a number of tests – most recently at Donington Park – sampling the newest F3 car but until this week the exact details of the next step in his career were unclear. However, now comes the news that the British born Bahraini will move up to the premier class, campaigning a Volkswagen powered Dallara F310 with the continued backing of Gulf Computer Services W.L.L.
“I'm so happy to be staying with T-Sport for my step-up to the International Class, everyone at the team worked really hard this year and we built a great relationship,” said Idafar. “The tests we've done in the A [International] Class car so far have been good, we're definitely on the right track. It's going to be a very big challenge but I'm ready and really looking forward to it.”
The decision gives Russell Eacott's T-Sport the chance to take their driver through the transition into the top class, an opportunity Eacott is clearly looing forward to: “We're very happy that Menasheh is continuing with us,” he said. “It's good to be able to take a driver from the National to the International Class. So far the winter testing has gone very well so we are looking forward to another strong season.”
