Successful week at Autosport Show for Superleague

1 Mins read

The Superleague Formula by Sonangol kicked off the New Year in style at the Autosport International Show, the motorsport industry's pre season build up event in Birmingham last week.

Fans were given the opportunity to learn more about the series, based on a football theme, which heads into its fourth year. The Superleague's stand was certainly popular too, with last season's runner up, Brit Craig Dolby, who led the Tottenham Hotspurs team to just two points from championship glory on hand to sign autographs on the Saturday. The hi-tech pit wall perch used by the Spurs team was also on display, to give an insight into what goes on behind the scenes during a race as well as the V12 750bhp engine fitted to all the cars used in the series.

Yelmer Buurman, the Dutch championship contender also dropped by the show on the Thursday to help promote the Assen round of the championship to be held on the weekend of the 4th & 5th June. Plans for the new season are stepping up a gear as 2011 is set to be the biggest and best yet for the Superleague Formula.
