British Touring Car Championship newcomer Tony Gilham has unveiled his 2011 livery ahead of the media day and first official test which is set to take place at Silverstone on Thursday (24 March).
Fans of the Dartford based 888 Racing with Collins Contractors driver will be familiar with the bright pink and green colours carried by Gilham on his cars throughout the past few years.
The story of the livery starts when Gilham was driving in the VW Cup. “We bought a beetle and it was lime green, we stuck with the green but in 2007 we were looking to add a colour and chose pink. We thought it really worked well together and stood out, plus we do a lot for charities such as breast cancer.” explained Gilham to theCheckeredFlag.co.uk.
“The response from the fans was amazing so we have stuck with it right through until now.” he added.
Gilham explained how he was looking forward to the media day and first official test. “I can’t wait to get out in the car and see what the BTCC fans think of our car this year. I’m very excited and keen to get out on track as haven’t been out since the last race of the Porsche Carrera cup in October at Brands Hatch.”
