Andrew Jordan Returns To Croft After 2010 Breakthrough

1 Mins read

A year on from his breakthrough win Andrew Jordan and Pirtek Racing return to Croft in the thick of the title race at the halfway point of the British Touring Car season.

“Obviously after last year's win I'm looking forward to racing at Croft again,” said Jordan. “It is a very busy lap, with tight technical sections as well as some challenging high-speed corners like the Jim Clark Esses and Sunny. It is an important weekend as it leads into the summer break in the calendar, so we want to score well at Croft to set up a push for the Independents' Trophy over the second half of the season.”

After a strong start to the season Jordan is one of six drivers at the top of the series' overall points table and lies just 15 points behind championship leader Matt Neal. Behind Andrew there is a 35 point gap to Tom Chilton, presenting the chance that the current top six will become the title challengers in the second half of the year.

However, the Independents' title remains the main target for the Staffordshire based driver, and he begins the Croft round third in points, though only ten points behind lead James Nash. In the Independents' teams' title Pirtek Racing lie only five points off the leader, series rookie Jeff Smith continuing to rack up useful points for the team.
