Donington Confirms End of Season Calendar

1 Mins read

Rounds of the British Superbike Championship and the British F3/GT Championships are the highlights of the remaining events set to take place at Donington Park this season. Following announcements made last month regarding noise restrictions on the Leicestershire circuit, the circuit has confirmed the conclusion of its calendar.

The World Superbike, World Touring Car and European Truck Racing series have all visited the venue so far during its first year back in full racing action. The circuit will hold six more meetings, including Round 10 of the BSB series, which will be entering its exciting 'Showdown' phase, when the top six riders battle it out for glory.

Donington Park chairman, Kevin Wheatcroft: “We had to reduce our original calendar to ensure we comply with noise restrictions. Although we have applied to the local authorities to amend the conditions and allow mor e racing at Donington Park, we need to await the outcome.

“With the remaining dates now confirmed, we can ensure our first season back in action will finish on a high note. The British Superbike championship looks to be heading for another thrilling climax and we're delighted that the Donington round will be the start of the final three-round 'Showdown' phase.”

The remaining 2011 motorsport events for Donington Park have been confirmed as follows:

13-14 August                  MSVR Donington Weekend
28 August                        MG Car Club
3-4 September              GP Masters Historic Car Racing
9-11 September            British Superbike Championship
24-25 September        Cooper Tires British F3 International Series
Avon Tyres British GT Championship
1 October                        BARC
