Pirtek Racing man Andrew Jordan is optimistic of a strong performance from he and his teammate at next weekend's penultimate British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) round at Brands Hatch.

“I enjoy driving at Brands a lot,” said Staffordshire based Jordan. “The Grand Prix circuit is a proper drivers' circuit and going through the trees on the Grand Prix loop is quite a challenge; you always get the feeling of speed through there because the trees are so close. You need to get a good balance in the car. We went well there last year and I'll be very surprised if we are not strong at Brands this time around.”

Jordan believes the fast corners of the Kent track's GP loop should suit his turbocharged Vauxhall Vectra.

“I'll go to Brands quite positive that it will be a good weekend. Out of the final three tracks this season of Rockingham, Brands and Silverstone, Brands should be our strongest track,” he said.

“I think we'll be pretty strong at Brands and I'll be disappointed if we're not.”

After the previous round at Rockingham Jordan lies sixth in the overall drivers points and third in the independents behind James Nash and Mat Jackson.

Teammate Jeff Smith will be hoping to continue the form that brought him two top ten finishes at Rockingham – his first overall points since the Oulton Park meeting in early June.
